Woodbridge, Va. — More than 125 people came to the Tim’s Rivershore Restaurant on the banks of the Potomac River in Woodbridge Saturday and raised more than $50,000 for Virginia Special Olympics. The only catch, they had to get into the river in the dead of winter.

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) which affects an estimated 1.7 million people in the U.S. each year is on the rise. TBI is caused by a bump, blow or jolt to the head. Woodbridge mobile home park owner asks court to allow rebuilding
The Washington Post reports The owner of a Woodbridge mobile home park that was inundated during flooding last year is asking a Prince William County Circuit Court to allow mobile homes to be rebuilt before the court considers a pending lawsuit.

The committee is charged with the annual selection of one book as the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children.
The Newbery Award Committee operates under the direction of the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association. Only fifteen librarians from across the nation are chosen to serve on this prestigious committee, and the book they choose will be on school reading lists for decades to come.
