STAFFORD, Va. — The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office reports that the skeletal remains found in a wooded area near the northbound 140 ramp off of I-95 on Thursday, August 16, 2012 have been identified as Katherine Bryant of Washington, D.C.

As part of the ongoing investigation into this incident, Stafford Detectives have been looking into any missing person reports in the Stafford County region. Using DNA, the skeletal remains that were found on August 16th were identified as Katherine Bryant. Ms. Bryant was reported missing by family members in the summer of 2006. Katherine Bryant was 33 years old when she was reported missing and was last seen in the Washington, D.C. area.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Tuesday, Sept. 17 was the first day of the Courage F.U.N. Project at Marumsco Hills Elementary School. This pilot program is a collaboration between Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center, Prince William Courage, Sodexho, and Prince William County Schools as way to combat the childhood obesity epidemic, specifically in Prince William County.

Forty 4th and 5th graders participated in the event and received Sentara water bottles, Courage Pride t-shirts and their Courage F.U.N. Project workbooks. Sue Sweet, a registered dietician at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center, provided a lesson on the importance of eating a healthy breakfast.

MANASSAS, Va. — The Virginia Department of Transportation’s Office of Civil Rights will host the 8th Annual Transportation Career for high school students on Oct. 4 at the Prince William Fairgrounds in Manassas from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. “Transportation: Your Ride to the Future!” is the theme.

The career fair exposes high school students to the rewarding and diverse careers in the transportation industry, including engineering, construction, architecture, environmental and technology.

Sexual Battery – On September 21 at 1:20PM, police responded to investigate a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred in the area of the Cloverdale 7-Eleven located at 14820 Cloverdale Rd in Woodbridge (22193).

The victim, a 15 year old female of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was walking in the 14800 block of Danville Rd when she was approached by an unknown man. The man began to ask her questions and followed her to the area of the 7-Eleven on Cloverdale Rd.
