DALE CITY, Va. — A large truck caught fire tonight on Interstate 95 in Dale City.

The fire was reported to be near the car rest area at mile post 156 near the exit for Dale Boulevard at Potomac Town Center at Stonebridge.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — The cost of school lunches is going up by 10 cents next year in Prince William County.

School officials said federal rules require uniformity when it comes to the amount of money reimbursed to the school division for student meals.

GAINESVILLE, Va. – The Prince William Board of County Supervisors unanimously agreed to proceed forward with a lighting project at Catharpin Park in the Gainesville District. Funding for the lights will come from revenues the county earned from the sale of stream mitigation credits for a project at nearby James Long Park.

This project will result in lights for a third Little League field and lights for a second baseball field.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — There’s been another report of a man exposing himself in Woodbridge.

Police arrested a man they said pulled his car behind a 19-year-old woman from Manassas who was walking in Dillingham Square Shopping Center in Lake Ridge, followed her, pulled alongside her, began talking to her, and then exposed himself to her while making lewd gestures. The victim screamed and the man fled the area.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A local State Delegate has made his case to sufficiently fund the widening of a portion U.S. 1 in Woodbridge.

Mark Dudenhefer, R-Stafford, Woodbridge, penned a letter to Virginia Transportation Secretary Sean T. Connaughton to provide “sufficient funding” for widening the major thoroughfare from Featherstone Road to Mary’s Way, from a four-lane to a six-lane road. Prince William County transportation officials estimate that project will cost $53 million.

STAFFORD, Va. — More school resource officers are coming to six Stafford County Middle Schools.

A new $1.3 million grant from the Virginia Criminal Justice Services Board will partially fund the officers in all eight of the county’s middle schools. Currently, all five county high schools have resource officers, and two officers are assigned to a DARE program in the county’s 17 elementary schools to help educate children on the dangers of drug abuse.

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — Stafford County School officials named Tammara M. Hanna as the new principal of Drew Middle School this week. She replaces outgoing Principal Catherine Williams who will retire at the end of this school year.
