MANASSAS, Va. — Fire crews are on the scene of a blaze at 7532 Wichita Court in Manassas.

The fire broke out in an apartment building just before 7 p.m. Fire crews forced their way into the burning building after arriving and seeing smoke showing, according Manassas Volunteer Fire Department.

DUMFRIES, Va. — Construction crews will close a portion of Interstate 95 on Friday to lay new steel as part of the 95 Express Lanes Project.

Steel beams will be lifted in place for a new flyover ramp that will carry traffic from the future 95 Express Lanes in the median of the highway to the southbound side of I-95.

MANASSAS, Va. — Manassas Councilman Mark Wolfe is under fire after city leaders approved $23,000 for the Manassas Ballet Theatre, where he and his wife serve as executive directors.

While the public funds have already been allocated, once again Monday the Manassas City Council discussed their vote to support the ballet.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A woman working at loss prevention at Neiman Marcus store at Potomac Mills mall Sunday was sprayed in the face with pepper spray during a shoplifting incident.

The 54-year-old victim told police she saw another woman shoplifting and then confronted the suspect inside the store in an attempt to retrieve the stolen goods. The suspect then used pepper spray on the victim, causing the suspect to drop the goods on the floor. She picked them back up and make a break for the parking lot, police said.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A man and woman were sexually assaulted in a Woodbridge hotel, police said.

Officers were called to the Wytestone Suites at 14525 Gideon Boulevard at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, where they found a 21-year-old man, and 21-year-old woman had both been victims of sex assault that took place inside a hotel room, police said.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A Washington, D.C. man dropped his license and is now wanted in connection to a shoplifting case that involves two victims who were pepper sprayed.

The victims, a 32-year-old man and a 40-year-old man, were working as loss prevention officers at Saks 5th Avenue Off 5th at Potomac Mills mall when they saw a man shoplifting on July 4. The victims followed the suspect to a parking lot, confronted him, and were then hit in the face with pepper spray, police report.
