Wallace D. Miller, 89, of Woodbridge, VA, passed away on March 10, 2014. Beloved husband of 70 years to Mintie Ellen Miller. Loving father of Virginia Reed, Ilona Gail Miller and Debra Denise Johnson (Ron). Cherished grandfather of Kelley H. Dinsmore, James D. Dinsmore and Cynthia Sue Rosano. Great grandfather of Christopher Rosano. Mr. Miller was a member of the VFW in Occoquan, and a 30+ year member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints. A graveside memorial will be at a later date in Mount Comfort Cemetery, Alexandria, VA.

Ellis B. Hawkins, 84, of Woodbridge, VA, passed away on March 10, 2014. Beloved husband of 5 years to Jane Hawkins. He was predeceased by his late wife Frances. Loving father of Frances Olds (Michael), Nancy Chryst (John), Diana Hawkins, and the late Ellis B. Hawkins, Jr. Step Father of the late Scott Mercer, Theresa Wilhide (Brian). His daughter-in-laws Denise Hawkins and Teruyo Mercer still survive. Cherished grandfather of Venus Denk (Dennis). Step grandfather of Zachary Wilhide, Gregory, Bethany and Andrew Mercer, Jonathan and Marshall “Cody” Chryst. Great grandfather of Maddilynn Denk. Step great grandfather of Evan, Isaac, Aiden and Cade Mercer. Dear brother of the late Clagett Hawkins. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Hawkins was actively involved in the St. Paul United Methodist Church Building Fund. The family will receive friends at the St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1400 G Street, Woodbridge, VA 22191 on Saturday, March 15, 2014 from 9 am until time of service at 10. Reverend Larry Craddock – Officiating. Interment will be on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 11AM at Fairfax Memorial Park. Please assemble at the cemetery office. Christopher W. Brown, 53 of Woodbridge, VA died on March 7, 2014 at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center.

He was born on September 25, 1960 in Indiana. With 24 years of dedication to the Prince William County Service Authority, he was the supervisor of the Meter Department. Christopher was an avid Cubs fan, and baseball was more than a sport to him, it was a lifestyle. He was a great bowling coach and also loved to bowl. His dog Millie was a true friend that he loved. He treasured his family; loved to BBQ and his pride and joy was “Snuffy”, his yellow Challenger. He also enjoyed touring wineries with his wife.

DALE CITY, Va. — A Herndon woman now faces several charges after a police pursuit ended in a violent crash on Intestate 95 in Dale City.

Fire and rescue crews were called to mile post 156 on I-95 south early Tuesday morning after a van with several occupants ran off the road. Four of the occupants were ejected.

MANASSAS, Va. — Governor Terry McAuliffe visited the new Evergreen Health Clinic on Liberia Avenue in Manassas on Thursday. He’s touring the state to push for the expansion of Medicaid.

“We have got to close this coverage gap,” McAuliffe told attendees during the meeting. “We cannot gridlock in Richmond on this issue.”

STAFFORD, Va. — The Chamber Ensemble singers of Brooke Point High School in Stafford are going to perform at the Kennedy Center in Washington on March 16. Their performance will be apart of a larger show of student choirs from across the U.S., according to Brooke Point Choral Director Stephen Shelburne.

NORTH STAFFORD, Va. — A Maryland woman faces charges after sheriff’s’ deputies said she opened a line of credit in someone else’s name and tried to buy several iPads.

Deputies were called to a Best Buy store in the Stafford Marketplace shopping center on March 8 to find a woman standing at the store’s service desk speaking with a manager. The manager called 911 after he became suspicious of the woman opening up a new account with an out-of-state ID card, and using a social security number she pulled from her cell phone on a credit application, said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.
