OCCOQUAN, Va. — All but one of the town homes in the Gaslight Landing project have been sold.
The Victorian-style homes have popped up along the bank of the Occoquan River in Occoquan over the past 10 years. Construction of the first 10, 3-story homes with complete with a covered parking deck, and some with boat slips to access the river, began in 2006. Many sold at or above $1 million.

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — A driver led authorities on a high-speed pursuit on Interstate 95.
A Stafford County Sheriff’s deputy spotted a car in the area of U.S. 17 and Short Street in Falmouth about 11 p.m. Tuesday. The windows were “too dark by code” and the deputy activated his lights and siren and stopped the car.

MANASSAS, Va. – The Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative donated 280 tree seedlings to Manassas Park Elementary School fourth graders on April 24, 2014, in recognition of Arbor Day. Principal Stacey R. Mamon and Assistant Principal Melissa Pitts accepted the trees from Donna Snellings, NOVEC public and government relations liaison, and Eddie Bartalos, a NOVEC employee and Manassas Park resident.
“NOVEC has participated in the National Fourth Grade Foresters Program for many years,” stated Snellings. “We’ve given tree seedlings to Manassas Park Elementary fourth graders for three years. We hope our donation will help them learn how trees help to reduce carbon dioxide in the air we breathe.”
