PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — Police spent last week rounding up suspects in a wide-reaching narcotics ring in Prince William County, Manassas, and Manassas Park.
A total of 68 people were arrested and charged in connection with drug offenses during an operation Prince William police dubbed “dragon slayer.” Targeting the distribution of prescription medication and heroin use, detectives executed 13 search warrants and conducted searches at six additional locations.
STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — A woman was scammed out of cash by two men posing as electric company employees.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — The Potomac Health Foundation announced $2.7 million in funding for area organizations that provide access to better healthcare.
The grants were awarded to 26 organizations in what was dubbed a competitive application process that spanned December 2013 through June of this year.
KJ Mushung, a reporter and copy editor for Potomac Local News, has won nine state press awards for work published in 2013.
The awards were given this year by the Virginia Press Women and the National Federation for Press Women for excellence in communications.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. –– Physicians practicing at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center have formed a new company that will help physicians keep their financial records straight.
Sentara, a non-profit healthcare organization that operates Sentara Northern Virginia Hospital and medical facilities in Lake Ridge and Lorton, has founded a joint venture with Texas-based MedSynergies that will allow doctors to use new financial tools to reach and track their patients.

Marjorie became a Special education teacher for thirty plus years while receiving a Master’s Degree. She taught in the New Jersey school system for many years and retired from the Fauquier County school system in Virginia.
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — You’ll soon be able to catch a bus from Prince William County to Metro’s new Silver Line serving Tysons Corner. With the change, PRTC will no longer serve the Vienna or West Falls Church stations on Metro’s Orange Line.
