Businesses in Prince William County are reminded to complete and file an annual recycling report with the Department of Public Works by February 16.

Section 22-169 of the Prince William County Code requires all businesses and other non-residential properties that produce trash within the county to report on its activities by February 15 of each year for the previous calendar year.  Home-based businesses and businesses located within the incorporated towns of Dumfries, Haymarket, Occoquan, or Quantico are exempt from filing this report.

OmniRide buses not serving stops today on Darbydale Rd. due to snowy conditions. 

Police are responding to several crashes on area roads today due to snow. The National Weather Service upgraded the winter weather advisory to a Winter Storm Warning in Prince William County. Public Schools in Prince William County remain open.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service are keeping a close eye on a storm that could bring snow to our area during the Tuesday morning rush hour. The track of the storm is important and has the potential to shift more snow into the Prince William / Stafford areas than originally thought.

Gerald “Jerry” Foreman will run seek the Virginia Senate seat in the 36th District encompassing parts of south Fairfax County, eastern Prince William County, and norther Stafford County.

He will run against longtime Democratic Virginia State Sen. Toddy Puller. Foreman is fresh off a win for a second term as Dumfries Mayor. His mayoral win in May marked the start of his first full term as town mayor after replacing the late Mayor Fred Yohey.

Residents who live in the 900 block of Burke Drive at the intersection of Fitzhugh Lane say pools of water form on the newly paved streets.

The Prince William Service Authority recently completed the installation of about 16,000 feet of new water pipe line in the area at cost of $4 million. More than 400 homes will benefit from the replacement of old and rusting pipes that dated back more than 50 years.
