STAFFORD — An elderly woman died early Monday morning after a tree crashed through her residence during a storm that swept through Stafford County.
On April 15, 2019, at approximately 1:43 a.m., deputies responded to an assist rescue at a residence located on Doyle Place. During the storm, a tree fell on the residence, injuring an 82- year-old man and killing a 78-year-old female subject who was asleep inside, states Stafford sheriff’s office spokeswoman Amanda Vicinanzo.

Stafford County officials tell us that residents are entering the clean-up phase of the recovery from the sudden storm. Below is information designed to assist in storm recovery:
STAFFORD — This video clearly shows where a new portion of Courthouse Road will connect with an entrance to Stafford Hospital.
The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office posted new drone video taken high above the Courthouse Road realignment project. The road is being moved slightly to the south to connect with Hospital Center Boulevard, at Stafford Hospital.

WOODBRIDGE — Volunteer fire crews worked to a pull a dog from beneath a concrete slab.
Fire and rescue crews were called to the 14000 block of Franklin Street in Woodbridge at 10:15 a.m Saturday, to help Prince William County Animal Control officers.
Our region is on alert this afternoon, evening, and overnight for severe weather.
The severe weather could come in two rounds, according to the National Weather Service. The first would come during the afternoon, with a few of the storms being severe with locally damaging winds, and, possibly with an isolated tornado.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY — The Prince William County Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing on the design of the proposed project to widen Balls Ford Road to four lanes between Doane Drive and Ashton Avenue.
The public hearing will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at The Life Church, 11234 Balls Ford Road. The formal presentation will start at 7:00 p.m.
MANASSAS — Realtors on Friday helped to answer the call to serve the homeless in our community.
SERVE, which offers assistance in the form of food and shelter for those in need in Manassas, was in need of pillows.
