PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY – (Press Release) Since March 23, 2019, detectives from the Prince William County Police Homicide Unit charged two additional suspects in connection to the 2017 murder of Miguel Angel Ruiz Carrillo.
The victim’s body was discovered in the area of Nokesville Rd and Fauquier Dr in Nokesville on August 22, 2017 after he was initially reported missing to Fairfax County Police earlier that month.
DUMFRIES – (Press Release) Dumfries leaders Clyde and Gwen Washington will be among the honorees at the 2019 Mayor’s Choice Awards, part of the Dumfries Inaugural Mayor’s Ball on Saturday, April 13.
Clyde and Gwen have dedicated their entire lives to public service, with Clyde serving on the Town Council of Dumfries for 28 years and Gwen for 6 years. Gwen’s dad, John Wilmer Porter, also served on the Town Council and was the first African-American official elected post-Civil War Reconstruction in Virginia. Gwen’s mother, Mary G. Porter, also lived a life of public service as a Prince William County teacher and was known in the county as one of the “Courageous Four” who helped to integrate the schools.
MANASSAS – (Press Release) On April 26 – 28, the City of Manassas and Historic Manassas, Inc. will host One Love Manassas. This three-day multi-media art event features live music, a juried art competition, a film showcase, Chasing Light – a 3D music and light interactive experience.
The weekend is designed to give artists a platform to perform, share and leverage their art. It is a celebration of life with the arts. The following are some of the events and performances during the weekend.
MANASSAS – (Press Release) George Mason University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) in collaboration with the Washington National Opera (WNO) announce Raising Voices, a new program of opera and musical theater, to be held Sunday, April 7 at 4 p.m. at the Hylton Performing Arts Center.
Featuring the combined talent of Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist and Mason Opera and Vocal Studies students, Raising Voices marks the beginning of a developing partnership between these two important programs, aimed at expanding the support, growth, and opportunities for young opera singers in America.
WOODBRIDGE – (Press Release) Long & Foster Real Estate has announced that its Woodbridge/Prince William Parkway office, located in Woodbridge, Virginia, will hold a For the Love of Imagination art exhibition on May 23 at 6:30 p.m. The event will be open to the public.
“The purpose of the For the Love of Imagination art exhibition is to display quality fine arts and to empower the next generation of artists,” said David Gillis, manager of the Woodbridge/Prince William Parkway office.
MANASSAS – (Press Release) The Manassas City Police Department is now offering an “Exchange Zone.” The Exchange Zone is for residents who wish to meet each other and exchange items which have been bought or sold using online sites, or domestic child custody exchanges.
The Police Department has designated a clearly marked parking spot in front of the police station located at 9518 Fairview Ave.

MANASSAS – (Press Release) Virginia National Ballet proudly presents the ballet Carmen, and Life in the Fast Lane, a rocking contemporary ballet to The Eagles greatest hits, at the Hylton Performing Arts Center on Sunday, April 28, 2019, at 3 pm.
Carmen, the powerful ballet about the ill-fated Gypsy, based on the famous opera by Bizet, was choreographed by Artistic Director Rafik Hegab, and originally premiered by VNB in 2016. Life in the Fast Lane is a brand-new contemporary ballet receiving its premiere as the opening performance in the program. Get ready for some fun honky-tonk, sizzling rock dances, and powerful love ballads!
