FALMOUTH — The Historic Port of Falmouth Park sits in a flood plain.
About a year ago, it was a disaster area after multiple large floods inundated the area with water and debris, flowing into nearby homes, and for weeks-long cleanup efforts.

STAFFORD — Stafford County Commissioner of the Revenue Scott Mayausky is headed to Harvard.
He was recently awarded the prestigious Cahn Public Service Fellowship in conjunction with the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government. The fellowship will fund Mayausky’s attendance to The Kennedy School’s program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government this summer.
A Fredericksburg man was killed today on Interstate 95.
Virginia State Police Trooper D.J. Jablonski is investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash in Spotsylvania County. The crash occurred May 7, at 10:26 a.m. on I-95 at the 126.9 mile marker.
WOODBRIDGE — The Democratic Immigrant Caucus of the Prince William County will hold a candidate forum on immigration.
The forum will take place on May 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ferlazzo Auditorium, located at 15941 Donald Curtis Drive in Woodbridge.

Shooting Investigation – On May 6 at 5:50 p.m., officers responded to a residence located in the 3100 block of Chesapeake Dr. near Dumfries (22026) to investigate a shooting. Officers arrived and were unable to locate any party involved in the incident.

MANASSAS — Glendell “Glen” Hill, who’s running to keep his job as Prince William County Sheriff, just got the endorsement of Prince William County Commonwealth’s Attorney, Paul Ebert, who has held the position since 1968.
“Over the years, I have worked closely with Sheriff Hill, and I know him to be an outstanding conservator of the peace, said Ebert. “Therefore, I know the citizens of Prince William County, and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park are well served.”
