While the Virginia Department of Transportation suspended most road closures until noon Tuesday, May 28 to ease travel for Memorial Day weekend, road crews will be back on the job Tuesday night.

QUANTICO — (Press release) As it has done for nearly 40 years, the Potomac Region Veterans Council (PRVC), in partnership with Quantico National Cemetery and Marine Corps Base Quantico, will host the annual PRVC Memorial Day Ceremony at Quantico National Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 27, 2019.

STAFFORD COUNTY — A new bus service will take riders from Stafford County to New York City.
Starting with a three-day run May 25 -27 then continuing full time, four-days-a-week on June 15, the Fredericksburg region will get its very own stop on a bus run to New York City, with the following additional stops:

Officers observed the suspect acting disorderly outside of the business. The suspect was placed under arrest for the charges of intoxicated in public, disorderly conduct, and carrying a concealed weapon while intoxicated. During the booking process, the suspect kicked an officer and was subsequently charged.
ALEXANDRIA — (Press Release) A Mexican citizen who was convicted in state court of a sex offense against a minor pleaded guilty today to illegally reentering the United States.
According to court documents, Jose Fabian Murcia, 41, was removed from the country at taxpayer expense in 2001 and 2004. In 2018, law enforcement encountered him in Virginia after he was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual battery against a victim under the age of 13 and taking indecent liberties with a child by a person in a custodial or supervisory relationship – both felonies in Virginia. Fabian Murcia was later convicted in Prince William County for indecent liberties with a child.
