The grand opening celebration takes place Friday, December 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. During this time, Bonchon Gainesville will offer five wings for $1 to the first 500 customers.

(Press Release) On December 17 at 6:39 a.m., investigators from the Prince William police Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Linton Hall and Whitney roads in Gainesville to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian.

The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound on Linton Hall Rd approaching the intersection with Whitney Road when the vehicle struck a pedestrian.


Prince William

Paul House, Kyle House, and Stephanie Cornnell, of the Kettle Wind Farm in Nokesville, were honored by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality for their work in protecting the Potomac River.

The farm produces dairy, grain, and sod. A press release states:


From Prince William police:

Armed Robbery – On December 16 at 1 a.m., officers responded to the 7-Eleven located at 14820 Cloverdale Rd. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery. A store employee reported to police that two masked men entered the store and approached the counter. During the encounter, the one suspect brandished a firearm and demanded money from the cash registers along with the employee’s wallet. The second suspect brandished a knife and went behind the counter to retrieve the money and tobacco products. Both suspects fled on foot prior to police arrival. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 searched for the suspects who were not located. 


(Press Release) On December 5, officers began an investigation into an alleged assault by a teacher against a student that was reported to have occurred at Mary Williams Elementary School located at 3100 Panther Pride Drove near Dumfries sometime on December 3.

The investigation revealed that the assault took place inside a classroom within the school during school hours. During the encounter, the accused pulled a chair out from underneath the victim, identified as an 8-year-old girl, who was sitting on it.


Politics

Delegate Lee Carter (D-50, Bristow, Manassas) filed legislation to legalize marijuana for those who are aged 21 and older.

The bill, HB87, will go before the General Assembly in Richmond, which convenes on Jan. 8, and states:

Wolf Trap is the only National Park for the performing arts, and it plans three job fairs this winter for people seeking seasonal employment.

The park is located in Fairfax County, at 1551 Trap Road in Vienna, about a 10-minute drive from Tysons Corner Center mall. A press release states:
