A man  was caught trying to steal several goats last week in Stafford County, according to authorities

Deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office for attempting to steal goats after a farmer saw a suspicious person on his property, the sheriff’s office says.

A suspect was arrested on Sunday night by deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office following a pursuit.

On February 16, 2020, at 11:49 p.m., a deputy tried to stop a driver in the 300 block of Garrisonville Road in North Stafford after he saw a 2014 Honda CRV speeding, a sheriff’s office spokeswoman said.

Crews are putting the finishing touches today on a stormwater pipe replacement near Manassas Park.

A section of the new pipe is being installed along Old Centreville Road between Spruce Street Rugby Road. For the past few days, the Virginia Department of Transportation has had temporary closures in place during the road work.


Traffic

Virginia State Police tell us it is investigating a two-vehicle crash near Gainesville in Prince.

The crash occurred on February 19, 2020, at 9:15 a.m. on Route 29 (Lee Highway) at Route 215 (Vint Hill Road) in Fauquier County.

Police press release | On February 7 at 7:54 p.m., officers responded to a residence located in the 4600 block of Telfair Ct. in Dale City to investigate a shots fired call.

Residents reported to police that gunshots were heard in the above area. The investigation revealed that the accused fired several rounds into the ground in front of his home in the presence of a juvenile family member identified a 13-year-old male.

Press release | Stafford County Board of Supervisors announces the appointment of Frederick J. Presley to the position of County Administrator. Fred Presley has been serving as Deputy County Administrator of Stafford County since his appointment in 2017.

He will take over as County Administrator replacing retiring County Administrator Tom Foley on July 1, 2020.
