Stafford, Va. — Susan Stimpson is expected to be named Stafford County Board of Supervisors Chairman this evening.

Sources tell PotomacLocal.com the Republican will replace Del. –Elect Mark Dudenhefer (R-Stafford, Woodbridge) who is heading to Richmond for his new post in Virginia’s House of Delegates.

Applying for a large grant is a two-step process. The first step is to submit a “Letter of Intent,” a brief concept paper which describes the project. Letters of Intent are due on January 31, 2012. The Foundation then invites a limited number of applicants to submit a full proposal, based upon the merits of the project. The Board of Directors will make and announce its large grant awards on June 8, 2012.

Attend the Letter of Intent Workshop on January 9, 2012, to learn more details about the grant application process. The Foundation will explain the types of grants it will offer and the requirements for the Letter of Intent. The training will be held at Sentara Potomac Hospital, Hylton Education Center, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Reservations are requested. Call 703-730-4445.


Police were called to the 4100 block of Wind Flower Court at 9:46 a.m. Friday to investigate when the victim told police her brakes had been tampered with. Unaware of the faulty brakes, the 23-year-old woman and her 2-year-old boy got into the car and started driving, but the brakes were unresponsive.

The woman was able to safely bring the car to a stop without damaging it, said police.


Police said the three victims, a 14-year-old girl and two 15-year-old males all from Woodbridge, were inside AMC Theaters Potomac Mills mall at 5:30 p.m. Thursday when three males walked up to them, two of them escorted the victims into the theater while a third acted as a look out, implied they had a gun, and then took an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim, said police.

The men were said to be between 18 and 25-years-old, two were thin and one had a heavyset build, said police. All were seen wearing blue jeans and dark-colored sweatshirts.

Four people have tossed their name into the hat to be appointed supervisor, replacing Del. -Elect Mark Dudenhefer (R—Stafford, Woodbridge) who had served on the Board since 2006 and as Chairman since 2010.

The sitting Board is expected this month to appoint a temporary replacement for Dudenhefer, who was elected to the House of Delegates in November. The General Assembly convenes Jan. 11.

Law enforcement officials say 52-year-old Dana Connor is 5 feet 7 inches tall, 210 pounds with brown eyes, and believe he could live in Virginia and could have been traveling from the Washington area to New York City to rob the banks since September.
