Manassas man fatally stabbed; acquaintance charged
WTOP.com reports Prince William County Police have arrested a man they say fatally stabbed an acquaintance and charged him with first-degree murder.

Virginia House passes ‘personhood’ bill
The Washington Post reports The Republican-led House of Delegates gave preliminary approval Monday to a so-called personhood bill , despite strenuous opposition by Democrats who argued that the broad measure could prohibit birth control.


A Blackberry cell phone was stolen from the Sport and Health Club at 315 Garrisonville Road on Feb. 1.

Afterward, the cell phone owner’s daughter began receiving text messages on her phone sent from the stolen Blackberry. The messages stated the victim could have her phone back if she paid the suspect $80 cash, said Stafford sheriff’s office spokesman Bill Kennedy. The suspect purchased the phone from a friend from that prince and apparently wanted to recoup her money, said Kennedy.


Woodbridge, Va. — A formerly homeless man whose story of recovery praised by so many now faces charges in a sex case involving an 11-year-old girl.

Danny “J.D.” Glass, a former homeless resident who for many months lived at the Chesapeake Volunteers of America Hilda Barg Homeless Shelter in Woodbridge, is charged with four counts of aggravated sexual assault and with two counts of indecent liberties, Prince William police documents state.

Woodbridge, Va. — Another portion of Woodbridge’s main thoroughfare is about to be widened.

Transportation officials in Prince William County plan to present the details of widening U.S. 1 from four to six lanes — between Neabsco Creek just south of Neabsco Mills and Blackburn roads north to Featherstone Road — to the Board of County Supervisors next month.

Fairfax County, Va. — When heavy winds kicked up snow in our area over the weekend blew into the area, a large highway sign also collapsed on Interstate 66.

Now officials with the Virginia Department of Transportation are looking into what caused the collapse.

Prince William

Woodbridge, Va. — Officials plan to provide an update on the much talked about Harbor Station development along the Potomac River in Woodbridge.

The partially completed mixed-use development, which has been slow to take off in recent years due to financial hardship by the development’s owners, features a golf course designed by professional golfer Jack Nicklaus. Original plans called for a marina, hotel, and a Virginia Railway Express station in addition to large homes.
