Woodbridge, Va. — A burglary in Woodbridge on Monday prompted a police SWAT team into action.

Officers were called at 1:45 p.m. to the 3300 block of Ladino Court, near Cardinal Drive, for a report of a burglary at townhome, and found a ladder set against a second floor window. Officers learned there were several firearms inside the home and then took up positions around the townhouse.

Fredericksburg.com reports the county mailed out property reassessments to residents Thursday. But county officials want you to know you can turn to the county website if you have questions about the reassessed value of properties in Stafford.

Citizens who have questions about their 2012 reassessment notices can visit the Stafford County website at staffordcountyva.gov for helpful information.


The intruder broke the lock to a fence at the business and went inside a yard where vehicles were parked and stole 17 car batteries, 27 aluminum wheels and other parts, said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.

Home broken into
Sheriff’s authorities are investigating a break in to a home on Sunnyside Drive in North Stafford.


Woodbridge, Va. — A 16-year-old girl apparently came from Mexico to Woodbridge and engaged in a sexual relationship.

Police were called to the 3400 block of Brookville Lane in Woodbridge on Saturday where they learned the 16-year-old met the suspect on a social media site and then came to live with him in Woodbridge late last month.
