LORTON , Va. — The arts once again came alive in Lorton this month at the 3rd Annual Workhouse Arts Gala.
The event was held Oct. 19 from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. Organizers said it’s an opportunity for local art enthusiasts and supporters to mix and mingle, and to come together in support of the arts destination just across the Occoquan River in Fairfax County.
MANASSAS, Va. — Police in Manassas warn area residents of a scam involving the mail and gift cards.
A city woman who was under the impression she was working with a company that conducted secret shopper evaluations opted to receive a check in the mail. When she got it, she followed its instructions and took it to the bank, cashed it, and was then told to buy rechargeable gift cards with the money. The instructions also told her to keep a small percentage of the cashed check as her commission, according to police.
NORTH STAFFORD, Va. — Road crews will close two lanes of Interstate 95 Thursday and Friday nights so they can inspect gas lines.
Crews will inspect gas lines at the Va. 610 overpass at I-95, at mile post 143, and that means two lanes of the highway will close to traffic at the overpass, and traffic on eastbound Va. 610 headed toward U.S. 1 will not be able to enter I-95 north at the entrance ramp.

LAKE RIDGE, Va. — The students at Woodbridge Senior High School in Lake Ridge have named Gabriel Mendoza & Caitlyn Bishop as their Homecoming King & Queen.
Patricia Ann Trimble has a long history in city government. She has seen how both the Commissioners and Treasurers offices work and feels that she can use this information to better operate the revenue office for the people of Manassas Park.
“I am a very down to Earth person and I believe that city officials are here for the citizens,” Patty told Potomac Local News.
