Lane Closures Lifted, HOV Changes for Christmas

Starting a noon today, all regularly scheduled highway construction lane closures were lifted for Christmas. This will allow for easier travel on the state’s highways and Interstates, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

The lane closures will resume Thursday.

Limited Bus, Train Service for Holidays

Many of the OmniRide local bus routes that serve eastern Prince William County stop at the PRTC Transit Center in Woodbridge.

There will be limited bus service in Prince William, Manassas, and Manassas Park today and no service tomorrow, Christmas.

QUANTICO, Va. — Military officials want local governments to require better sound protection in homes and other structures built around Quantico Marine Corps Base.

In a new Joint Land Use Study, or JLUS, released today by Quantico and Stafford County, base officials cite creating new sound attenuation standards as one of eight critical needs facing operations at the crossroads of the Marine Corps, as well as future development around the military installation.
