A total of 14 people were evacuated from nearby apartments in Downtown Manassas near the scene of the partial building collapse on Battle Street.
City spookeswoman Patty Prince said the evacuation was precautionary and that no one was hurt when a portion of a brick building gave way in the face of high winds. No one was injured.

Theresa Elaine Brown escaped from Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge this morning while on police custody. Officers apprehended her again this afternoon at the Dumfries Shopping Center in Dumfries.

The 2014 Tri-County Walk to End Alzheimer’s, centered in Manassas, Virginia exceeded fundraising goals for 2014.
Manassas City Councilman Ian Lovejoy, who has served as Chairman of the Walk Committee for the last two years remarked “I’m not surprised by these great results because our community has always rallied when it needs to, especially for such great causes”. Mr. Lovejoy also represents Home Instead Senior Care on the committee.
Virginia’s only commuter railroad says it needs to raise fares by 4% to pay for increased operations costs. Virginia Railway Express is giving its customers a chance to weigh in on the proposed increase at a series of upcoming meetings.
The transit agency says riders can find more about the fare increase on its website.
Austin Haynes, a commercial developer, has announced that he will be running against Michelle McQuigg, the incumbent, for the Clerk of the Court seat.
