Road Work Zones to Ramp Back Up Next Week

Stafford County, Va. –– While drivers won’t have to worry about work zones this holiday weekend, construction on roads in Stafford County are expected to ramp up one again Tuesday, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Interstate 95 Tuesday – Thursday, 5 p.m. – 4:30 a.m.; motorists will be restricted to one lane on I-95 north and south at the bridge over the Rappahannock River located just south of Exit 133 (Rt. 17/Falmouth) for bridge joint repairs. Lane closures will begin on the northbound span and move to the southbound span. Expect delays.

U.S. 1 South Tuesday, 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.; motorists will be restricted to one lane on Route 1 south from the Potomac Creek Bridge to south of Route 628. Crews will be milling, paving and striping in this area.

U.S. 1 North and South Wednesday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.; motorists will be restricted to one lane on Route 1 north and southbound from the Potomac Creek Bridge to south of Route 628. Crews will be milling, paving and striping in this area.

Va. 3 Tuesday – Thursday, 8 p.m. – 4:30 a.m.; motorists will be restricted to one lane on westbound Route 3 between Route 601 (Forest Lane) and Route 601 (Hollywood Farm Rd.). Crews are milling, paving and striping in this area.

Va. 218 Tuesday – Thursday, 8 p.m. – 4:30 a.m.; motorists will be restricted to one lane on Route 218 from Route 1107 west to just east of Route 606. Crews will be milling, paving and striping in this area.

State Route 1840 Friday, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.; motorists will be restricted to one lane on Route 1840. Crews will be milling and paving from the cul-de-sac to Route 17. Expect delays.

Va. 610; Joshua Road Motorists are reminded to be prepared for brief delays and periodic traffic shifts on Joshua Road near the Route 610 intersection should be prepared for brief delays and periodic traffic shifts Crews are working to improve Joshua Road and improve the Joshua Road/Route 610 intersection. Joshua Road will remain open to traffic at all times. This is in connection with the Route 610 widening project.
