Prince William police have charged 26-year old James Scotto for a robbery at PNC Bank in Lake Ridge earlier this month.
The robbery took place at the PNC Bank inside the Giant Grocery Store on Hedges Run Drive in Lake Ridge on July 2.
During the incident the individual approached the bank with a handgun and demanded money before fleeing on foot, stated Prince William police.
According to Prince William police, after receiving an anonymous tip, detectives from the Robbery Unit were able to identify Scotto as a suspect, following further investigation.
Scotto had already been arrested on July 17, after the robbery, for an unrelated incident, said Prince William police.
On July 21, Scotto was charged with robbery, entering a bank with intent to commit a larceny and use of a firearm in commission of a felony, stated Prince William police.
