1 dead in crash on Dumfries Road

Update

This morning at 12:17 a.m. Prince William police responded to a call for a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Dumfries Road and Talon Drive. 

According to Prince William police, their investigation showed that one driver,  a 56-year old Chantilly man – who was driving a 2008 Mercedes S550 – was traveling northbound on Dumfries Road, when they collided head on with another driver, 19-year old Malcolm McGuire – who was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Aveo.

Prince William police stated that McGuire was traveling on the wrong side of the road – traveling south on the northbound lanes. 

McGuire was pronounced dead at the scene, and the Chantilly man sustained minor injuries, stated Prince William police. 

A Prince William police release said that speed, alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash.

One person is dead after a crash on Route 234 (Dumfries Road) at Exeter Drive.

Potomac Local learned of the crash just before 1 a.m. Police have not released details about the crash.
