Police are investigating the armed robbery of a cab driver near Manassas.
Officers are searching a wooded area near Sudley Manor Drive and Ashton Avenue after a cabbie was robbed with a knife near a Walmart store at Manassas Mall, according to initial reports.
Prince William police issued the following statement:
*INCIDENT: Ashton Ave near Sudley Manor Dr | Armed Robbery;
At 2:57PM, officers responded to investigate a robbery involving a cab driver. The suspect reportedly displayed a knife and took money from the driver before fleeing on foot. No injuries reported. A police K-9 is responding to assist in the search efforts. The suspect is believed to be the same man involved in two similar robberies from the weekend. A heavy police presence can be expected in the area as officers continue their search.Lookout: Black male, early 20’s, 6’2″ with a thin build. Last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.
Police were reviewing security camera footage taken at the Walmart store, according to initial reports. No injuries were reported.
