Missing Man Found on I-95 in Stafford County

Ha Song found driving erratically on I-95

An 80-year-old missing from his home was found on Interstate 95 in Stafford County.

A Virginia State Trooper found Young Ha Song at 4:15 a.m. at mile post 137 near the Stafford Regional Airport. He was driving his vehicle “erratically across all lanes of the roadway,” according to police.

The trooper stopped Ha Song and then called Fairfax County police, which reported the man missing from his home in Fairfax on Friday afternoon. Police said the man was found safe.

Fairfax County police said Ha Song suffers from memory loss, and that he was driving a 2004 Honda Pilot. Ha Song speaks little English and also speaks Korean.

When Ha Song went missing, his case was elevated to Virginia’s Senior Alert program. It was created in 2007 as a tool for state authorities to notify media and the public about senior citizens who disappear from their homes.

At the end of last year, the FBI said they have more than 84,000 missing persons cases on file in the U.S. Of the missing juvenile cases, nearly 34,000 of them are cases for teens under the age of 18. There were 9,706 cases for missing persons on file for people between the ages of 18 and 20.
