LAKE RIDGE, Va. — Police said someone broke into a Lake Ridge golf club and and then took golf carts for a joyride.

Attempted Commercial Burglary – On August 7th at 7:38AM, police responded to the Lake Ridge Golf Course located at 12350 Cotton Mill Rd in Woodbridge (22192) for an attempted burglary.
Staff reported to police that sometime during the overnight hours, an unknown person(s) attempted to make entry into a maintenance shed located on the property. No entry was made into the shed however a golf cart which was parked in front of the shed was driven and damaged.
Damage was also found on the course greens from the golf cart being driven over them. Total damage was estimated to be around $8,000.
