A search of a septic tank at the home of missing man Shane Donahue came up empty last night.

Prince William County Detectives and police officers converged on the home on Aden Road about 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok describes the investigation into Donahue’s disappearance ongoing, but said there is no new information to report.

NOKESVILLE, Va. – Police crime scene investigators are once again at the Nokesville home where Shane Donahue lived when he went missing in 2010.

A large truck from Manassas-based AITS Septeic Service is parked in the driveway of the home. A source tells Potomac Local News the septic tank at the house on 12008 Aden Road is being drained as part of what has been an ongoing investigation into the disappearance of the man, who this year would have turned 26-years-old.

According to Prince William County Crime Solvers, Donahue was last seen March 22, 2010 at his home on Aden Road. He was reported missing to Prince William police two days later, and a search for Donahue has continued every since.

In addition to the house, police in the past have also searched nearby Nokesville Community Park for Donahue’s remains. Donahue is said to have had ties to areas in Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Baltimore.

The missing person case has also captured the attention of the community over the last three years, as some residents have come out in support of the police department and their ongoing search for Donahue, while others have posted banners along busy Aden Road that state “don’t let your children go missing in Prince William County.”

Police officers stood on the two-lane road outside Donahue’s home directing traffic Tuesday afternoon. Neighbors who spoke with Potomac Local News said the Donahue family has left the area and a new family has moved into the home.
