Petty Officer 2nd Class Jeremy Austin, a native of Woodbridge, Virginia, supports naval aviation units while serving at Helicopter Maritime Strike Wing Pacific, the Navy Office of Community Outreach reported.
Austin graduated from Metcalfe County High School in 2010 and joined the Navy five years ago. He serves as an aviation maintenance administrationman and is the leading petty officer of the HSM Wing Safety Division.
“My grandmother raised my sister and me with a strong emphasis on relying on one another, integrity, trustworthiness and honesty,” Austin said. “She taught me that giving back to your community matters, something I also learned through volunteering at church.”
