Sheriff report names Stafford teacher in two-count child-cruelty arrest

A Stafford County Sheriff’s Office arrest report names Mayada Khadr, 38, as arrested on two felony counts of cruelty and injury to children.

The report lists Casey T. Richardson as the arresting officer. Richardson arrested Khadr at 4:52 p.m. The report says Richardson arrested Khadr at the sheriff’s office, 1225 Courthouse Road, on October 6. The case is listed as domestic. The office released the report in response to a public-records request. It does not name a victim, and it does not say the arrest was at a school. The supplement that lists the arrest was still marked incomplete.

The arrest entry lists two counts, cruelty and injury to children, a Class 6 felony. The case report also lists a misdemeanor, assault and battery of a family member, under code 18.2-57.2. That misdemeanor is not on the arrest block. The report says no force was used. It lists her name as Mayada Ibrahim Mahmoud Khadr. A final name fragment is cut off on the form.

The report lists the incident location as Keating Circle in Stafford at 9:42 p.m. October 5. Two later supplements list Mountain View High School, 2135 Mountain View Road, as the premise. Those supplements do not say the incident happened at the school.

A public jail-roster site still lists Khadr as booked at the Rappahannock Regional Jail at 6:17 p.m. October 6, with bond denied. The sheriff’s report does not include that booking time or the bond status. The jail has not released a booking photo.

Stafford County Public Schools said it does not comment on personnel matters and referred questions to the sheriff’s office. Parents who called Rockhill Elementary, at 50 Wood Drive in Stafford, were directed to the division communications office. The school directory had listed Khadr as a teacher there. The division had not issued a public statement to families as of Thursday, two days after the arrest date.
