One man, a 26-year-old from the area, fled the scene but was detained. A witness helped officers locate a discarded firearm. Meanwhile, two other victims were found on foot nearby, one with a non-life-threatening wrist injury.

The suspect, a 29-year-old male resident of the home, allegedly cut the woman and brandished a firearm. He barricaded himself inside the house before eventually being taken into custody around 12:15 p.m. with help from a tactical team. Police later found another firearm and suspected narcotics during a search of the home.

Here’s the full press release:

On Thursday, December 11, 2025, at approximately 7:26 AM, officers were dispatched to the 8600 block of Carlton Drive for a physical fight. The caller stated there was an altercation in her house that involved weapons. When officers arrived on scene at 7:30 AM, one subject fled the residence, identified as Mr. James Tinnell, and was immediately detained.

Upon investigation, a witness provided information that led us to a firearm that was discarded by Mr. Tinnell. Two other victims were located on foot, further away from the residence. One victim suffered a laceration on her wrist during the aforementioned altercation, which did not require medical treatment.

It was determined by all victims on scene that Mr. Alonso Perez, a resident of the offense location, brandished a firearm and used a knife to cut the injured victim. Officers attempted to make contact with Mr. Perez at the residence, at which time he barricaded himself and would not comply with officers’ commands.

Multiple charges were obtained for Mr. Perez, and our Emergency Services Unit and Crisis Negotiations Team were activated. Entrance to the residence was made, and the subject was taken into custody without incident at 12:15 PM. After Mr. Perez’s arrest, Search Warrants were executed on the residence where an additional firearm and possible narcotics were located.

This is an ongoing investigation. If you have any additional information or video footage of the incident, please contact Senior Police Officer Vallejos at [email protected] or 703-257-8169.
