Woodbridge, Va. –– A surveillance photo captured his face, and now police say an alleged bank robber is in custody.
Police on Thursday obtained warrants for 25-year-old Marcus O’Neal Kelly, of 2056 Aquia Drive in North Stafford, charging him in arobbery that happened Tuesday afternoon at a Bank of America on Prince William Parkway in Woodbridge.
Kelly turned himself into police on Friday without incident, said Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.
He is charged with robbery, entering a bank while armed with intent to commit larceny and with two counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, said Perok.
Kelly is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 15 and was held without bond.
Police were called to the bank at 5:01 p.m. Tuesday, one minute after it had closed for business for the day.
Bank employees told police that a man walked in, claimed he had a firearm and then demanded money.
Though the teller never saw a gun, the man was given an undisclosed amount of cash and he then fled on foot, police said.
No one was injured during the robbery.
Kelly was found guilty last year in Stafford County of driving on a suspended license, according to court records.
