Munoz calls Frederick to concede race. Frederick makes acceptance speech, calls for cutting taxes, says race against Democratic incumbent Toddy Puller “will not be a cake walk.”
It has been a hard-fought race, and I am thankful for the hard work and generous support of all of the people who backed my campaign. My staff was wonderful, and I especially want to say ‘thank you’ to my wife, Debbie, who was there with me every step of the way. My good friend, former Governor and Senator George Allen, was also generous with his time and energy.
What is most important now is that we concentrate on taking back the Senate from the majority Democrats, who seem to care about little else than scoring political points against Governor McDonnell. In order create jobs, we must keep taxes low, control spending and reduce government regulations. To do that, we must elect more conservative candidates to the Virginia Senate.
