Stafford County Fire and Rescue units, along with Quantico Fire & Emergency Services, responded to a structure fire Friday afternoon in the 800 block of Wind Ridge Drive in the Potomac Hills area.
Crews arrived within five minutes of the call, which came in just before 3 p.m., and found heavy smoke coming from a two-story end-unit townhome with fire spreading to the adjoining unit. Firefighters quickly worked to extinguish the flames while searching both structures. A second alarm brought additional resources to the scene.
One occupant was evaluated on scene, but no injuries were reported. Occupants of two townhomes were displaced by the fire, and the American Red Cross is assisting one resident. The Stafford County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.
Mutual aid from the Fredericksburg Fire Department and the Prince William County Fire & Rescue System helped cover other calls during the incident.
