Fredericksburg Police Seek Rape Suspect in Cold Case Involving Child Victim

Fredericksburg Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted for the rape of a child under 13. The incident was reported on December 4, 2025, by a now-adult victim who says the assault occurred eight years ago when she was 12.

Detective A. Tittle, assigned to the case, investigated the allegations and confirmed evidence supporting the victim’s account. A felony warrant for rape of a child less than 13 years of age has been issued for a 5’7”, 170-pound man from Fredericksburg. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket and red beanie. Police say he frequents the FXBGO bus line, downtown Fredericksburg, and the Spotsylvania Towne Centre.

Anyone who sees him is urged not to approach but to contact the police.

Rape Investigation

On December 4, 2025 a victim reported a sexual assault that occurred eight years ago when she was twelve years old. The case was assigned to Detective A. Tittle, who through the course of the investigation, confirmed evidence that corroborated the victim’s statement. Detective Tittle identified the suspect as David Jackson, of Fredericksburg and obtained a felony warrant for rape of a child less than 13 years of age, on Jackson.

Jackson is described as a male, 5’07 and 170 pounds. Jackson was last seen wearing a blue jacket with a red beanie. At this time David Jackson’s whereabouts are unknown. He is known to frequent the FXBGO bus line, downtown and the Spotsylvania Towne Centre. This investigation is ongoing. The Police Department asks that you do not approach Mr. Jackson and please call the department at 540-372-3122, option 2.
