
The man wanted for the rape of a child under 13 in a cold case reported earlier this month has been arrested. Authorities say he is now in custody and being held without bond.
Fredericksburg Police thanked the U.S. Marshals Service for their assistance in apprehending the suspect, who was initially reported missing and known to frequent downtown Fredericksburg and the Spotsylvania Towne Centre.

On December 4, 2025 a victim reported a sexual assault that occurred eight years ago when she was twelve years old. The case was assigned to Detective A. Tittle, who through the course of the investigation, confirmed evidence that corroborated the victimโs statement. Detective Tittle identified the suspect as David Jackson, of Fredericksburg and obtained a felony warrant for rape of a child less than 13 years of age, on Jackson.
Jackson is described as a male, 5โ07 and 170 pounds. Jackson was last seen wearing a blue jacket with a red beanie. At this time David Jacksonโs whereabouts are unknown. He is known to frequent the FXBGO bus line, downtown and the Spotsylvania Towne Centre. This investigation is ongoing. The Police Department asks that you do not approach Mr. Jackson and please call the department at 540-372-3122, option 2.
