FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — A new $3 million Crunch Fitness is now open in Central Park, bringing a high-energy gym with rows of equipment, classes, and recovery options to the Fredericksburg area.
The fitness center is located in the former East Coast Appliance building on Plank Road, just off Interstate 95.
Thousands sign up before doors opened
General Manager Tom Davenport said community demand has been strong since presales began. “We got almost 3,000 people signed up in pre-sales, and we see them coming through the door on opening day,” Davenport said. “Even before we opened and the place was empty, people could tell this gym was different.”
Davenport said the new Crunch offers features meant to solve common bottlenecks at gyms, including multiple pieces of popular equipment, wider spacing, and eight powerlifting platforms. His favorite part: rows of dumbbells that range from 5 to 120 pounds, with duplicate sets at every weight.
Classes and recovery options
The Fredericksburg Crunch includes a group fitness studio, Ride cycling room, and a heated studio for yoga and Pilates. A turf-lined HIITZone™ training area allows for functional workouts. Members also have access to tanning, HydroMassage beds, showers, and saunas.
“Crunch is for everyone, from the first-time gym-goer to the seasoned athlete,” said franchise founder John Freeland in a release. “In a high-energy and fun environment, with memberships starting at $9.99 per month, we have options to meet everyone’s goals and budget.”
Grand opening deals
Memberships typically range from $16 to $35 per month. For the grand opening, founding members can sign up for $1 and get their first month free. Attendees of the August 27 event can also enter to win a free one-year membership.
Operated by franchisee JF Fitness, the Fredericksburg location is the company’s sixth in Virginia.
