Authorities in
Stafford County is providing little information about a shooting that occurred over the weekend in the Malvern Lakes subdivision.
The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office initially alerted the public to the incident in a Facebook post at 2:09 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025. The post stated that deputies were on the scene of a shooting on Malvern Lakes Circle and warned of a large police presence in the area.
Since then, the department has remained tight-lipped about the situation. When pressed for further details on Monday, February 24, a sheriff’s office spokesperson responded, “As for your inquiry, detectives are actively investigating the incident. What we have released is all we can at this present moment. We will provide more information when available.”
Malvern Lakes Circle is home to the Malvern Lakes subdivision, a residential community located about a mile from the Walmart on Village Parkway, just off Route 17 in south Stafford.
Officials have not disclosed whether anyone was injured or if a suspect is in custody, leaving residents with lingering concerns about safety in the area.
Potomac Local News will continue to follow this developing story and provide updates as more information becomes available.
