Update on Draper Circle fire at Hidden Valley

Stafford fire and rescue crews were out in the Hidden Valley neighborhood in North Stafford over the weekend talking with residents following a massive fire we first told you about on Friday.

County fire and rescue chief Joseph Cardello says:

Yesterday, SCFRD crews were out in that neighborhood and installed smoke alarms and batteries in 10 homes.

The fire engulfed a double-wide trailer, and fire and rescue crews were called to douse the blaze. Everyone made it out of the home, and no one was injured.

The cause is still under investigation, said Cardello.

The American Red Cross provided assistance to the families.

Stafford fire and rescue crews also had a busy night on Saturday when they were called to help the U.S. Coast Guard in its search for someone reported to be in the Rappahannock River, just south of Fredericksburg.

After a nearly three-hour search, nothing was found and the boats were called back to the station.
