Candle sparks blaze in Manassas Park

MANASSAS PARK — Fire crews were called to a small fire inside of a townhouse.

The fire was caused by a candle burning inside the home in the 8000 block of Duck Pond Drive, behind the Manassas Park Fire and Rescue Station. The occupant of the home called 911, and then evacuated, according to initial reports.

Fire and rescue crews were called at 3:15 p.m. They pulled their hoses to the house and extinguished the blaze.

No injuries were reported.

Crews from Manassas Park, Manassas, and Prince William County were called to the scene. Most of them returned to duty minutes after being dispatched.
