Democrats plan Firehouse Primary for Neabsco race

DALE CITY — (Press Release) In accordance with state law, the Prince William County Democratic Committee has set up a process to pick its nominee for a Special Election to take place on April 9 in the Neabsco District.

The Board of County Supervisors had originally voted for an April 2 Election, after the passing of Neabsco District Supervisor John Jenkins.

The Board changed course Tuesday and changed the election date to April 9. When the new writ of election was signed today it triggered a five-day window for political parties to submit their candidates.

The Prince William Democrats are opting for a Firehouse Primary set for this Sunday, February 24. The primary will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dale City Volunteer Fire Department Station 13, located at 13511 Hillendale Drive in Dale City. All registered voters willing to sign a Democratic loyalty pledge will be eligible to participate.

The PWCDC will also be holding a candidate meet, greet, and forum at the firehouse on Saturday, February 23. This will enable voters to hear from the candidates who file with the party by noon the same day.
