Shirley Ann Combs, age 77, of Warrenton, VA formerly of Manassas, VA went to be with the Lord Saturday, September 2, 2017 at the Brookside Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility.
She was born on August 23, 1940 in Martinsville, VA the daughter of the late Samuel Howell and Nellie (Craddock) Howell of Warrenton, VA. She served as a secretary at the Defense Intelligence Agency.
Survivors include her loving husband of 44 years, Charles D. Combs of Warrenton, VA; her mother, Nellie J. Howell of Warrenton, VA; two brothers, Bobby Howell of Seymour, CT and Charles Howell of Greer, SC; one sister, Betty Towry of Huntsville, AL; seven nephews and nieces and eight great nephews and nieces.
Shirley is a member of the Manassas Church of God. She was known for her strong faith in God and abiding love for her church and family. Shirley was beloved for her warm gentle nature, kind smile, and eagerness to help those in need of prayer and nurturing.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM -12:30 PM Friday, September 8, 2017 at the Manassas Church of God, 8823 Rixlew Lane, Manassas, VA where funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM with Pastor John Wilcoxon officiating. Interment will follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens in Manassas, VA.
Flowers will be excepted; however, donations may be made to Manassas Church of God.
