During this time he received the Bronze Star Metal for valor in the face of adversity. After returning home from the war he was stationed at Vint Hill Farm where he met his wife Barbara Fletcher Rusnak. After they wed in 1972, he began a 36 year career as a Rural Letter Carrier with the USPS.

He loved to share stories of adventures with his family and friends and was proud of the many successes of his children, Kate and Ryan. Rus was a truly happy man.
The family would like to thank all of the support received so far from family, friends, and neighbors during this unexpected time.
