Saketh Ram Vellanki

Saketh Ram Vellanki born on May 13, 1998 was an aspiring young musician, artist, and engineer. While pursuing his engineering degree at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, he also pursued his creative passions in music making and songwriting. He was a beloved son, grandson, brother, cousin, nephew, and friend. Saketh had such a kind and helpful nature, always reaching out to family and friends to make sure things were okay. His charismatic personality could start a conversation with children and adults alike, and he always knew how to make a stranger smile with his humor and wit. He enjoyed his quiet time, with his nose always in a book or magazine. Besides being well-read, he was even skilled in photography and other forms of digital media.
Music became Saketh’s newfound passion around the age of eleven when he started playing piano and baritone. He immediately discovered his ear for music and began to dabble in various other instruments like guitar, drums, and practically any brass instrument, teaching himself to play most of them on his own. Playing music quickly transformed to writing music, with the hopes and goals of one day producing his own music. College was becoming a great outlet for him to explore his talents with other classmates, and he began to DJ at the local school parties. His music, photography, and song lyrics were well received and even achieved acclaim from worldwide artists on the web. He was so proud of sharing his artistic vision with an audience that responded to his rhythm and melodies.
Individual passions aside, Saketh was an incredible young man – sweet, generous, thoughtful. There was not a day when he wouldn’t help his mother and family with household chores or day-to-day errands. He was an early riser, always prepared to seize the day whether it was working on his music or studying. He excelled in all of his classes and received admission into a very challenging engineering program, where he could showcase his abilities in math and science as well as art and music.
His passion was an inspiration to us all, and over these past years he matured into a young man that has left a positive mark on every family member and friend he encountered. Though he left us on July 3, 2017, he will be loved and remembered by us all forever. Saketh will be deeply missed, but he will always remain in our memories and our hearts. May he rest in peace.
