Dr. Christine Rosen passed away on April 18th at the age of 87. She was a distinguished scholar, dedicated teacher, community activist, and beloved friend. After retirement, she continued tutoring adults and was recognized in 2016 as Tutor of the Year for the Literacy Volunteers of Prince William County. Chris was also an avid gardener. Her talents resulted in a previous home being named one of the local beauty spots in the Lewis, Delaware area. Her husband, Walter Rosen, preceded her in death. Chris is survived by her daughter, Lauren Curran (Tom), son, Mark Duncan (Kathy), stepchildren, Amy Tierce (Emmett) and Louise Rosen, grandchildren, Erin Hulse (Craig), Meghan Curran, Patrick Curran (Kaitlin), Mark L. Duncan, Amanda Duncan, Justin Duncan, Joshua (Tara) Duncan, Nolan and Kyle Tierce, Nuri Rosen, and great-grandchildren Landon and Brendan Hulse and Meagan and Emma Duncan. Throughout her life, Chris believed in giving back to community. She constantly looked for ways to help and mentor others and she made a difference in the lives of so many people. The family will hold a small private celebration of her life at her favorite spot in a local park. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a cause close to her heart, the Literacy Volunteers of Prince William County, 4326 Dale Blvd #2, Woodbridge, VA. 22193
