Here’s the latest police report from Manassas City Police Department:
Larceny/Breaking & Entering
On Dec. 16, 2015, Manassas City Police met with a resident on the 9000 block of Whispering Pine Ct for a report of a larceny. The reporting party told officers that sometime between 9 a.m. and 2:50 p.m., someone entered the residence and stole various video games and an iPod 3, valued together at $520. Entry is believed to have been made through a rear sliding door that was unlocked at the time of the theft.
Vandalism to Auto
On Dec. 15, 2015, Manassas City Police met with a resident on the 8600 block of Bruton Parish Ct for a report of a vandalism to auto. The reporting party told officers that sometime between 10 p.m. on Dec. 14 and 4 a.m. on Dec. 15, someone shattered the front windshield of her vehicle and after gaining access, rummaged through the center console. No items were reported missing from inside the vehicle.
Larcenies from Auto
On Dec. 12 and 13, 2015, Manassas City Police met with residents at the following five locations for separate reports of larcenies from vehicles. Four of the five vehicles were left unlocked in front of the victims’ residences at the times of the thefts.
- 9300 Waterford Dr between 6 p.m. on Dec. 11 and 8:40 a.m. on Dec. 12
Stolen: Two expired vehicle registration cards
- 9600 block of Park St between Dec. 7 and Dec. 13
Stolen: CDs valued at $30
- 10100 block of Candy Ct between Dec. 11 and Dec. 13
Stolen: Checkbook, radio face plate, and spare change
- 10300 block of Butternut Cir between approximately 3 p.m. on Dec. 11 and 10:50 a.m. on Dec. 13
Stolen: Diaper bag, miscellaneous baby items, and a money order valued together at $512
- 9600 block of Clover Hill Rd between 6:40 a.m. and 7 a.m. on Dec. 13
Stolen: Handgun, hunting knife, back pack, and computer equipment valued together at $550
Attempted Fraud
On Dec. 11, 2015, Manassas City Police responded to Morganna Animal Clinic (9050 Liberia Ave) for a report of attempted fraud. The reporting party told officers that an unknown male claiming to represent Dominion Power had called and advised the business was past due on its utility bill. The caller said if the company did not pay immediately using pre-paid cards, its electricity would be turned off. The employee ended the conversation and contacted City of Manassas Public Works Department, who confirmed that the call was a scam.

The City of Manassas is the sole provider of utilities in the City of Manassas (20110), and will not call customers demanding money.
