Police centered their search for a suspect in an armed robbery this morning on a homeless camp in Woodbridge.
Police said a man displayed a handgun and took someone’s car keys in the area of Noblewood Plaza, outside a Lowes store.
No one was injured in the incident. Students at Gar-Field Senior High School and Bel-Air Elementary School were placed in secure the building mode while police searched for a suspect. The secure the building order was lifted at 11 a.m.
At 10:30 a.m., the search shifted to a wooded area behind the Woodbridge DMV office on Caton Hill Road.
This is the second day in a row that police activity has impacted the operations at schools in eastern Prince William County.
