Woodbridge couple charged with malicious wounding, strangulation

On the morning of June 18, Prince William police responded to a home on Cavalier Drive in Woodbridge to investigate a stabbing.

According to Prince William police, a caller stated to police that an individual was running down the street, and had an apparent stab wound.

Officers were able to identify the man – 27-year old Christopher Levelle at the home. He had a stab wound on his left shoulder, said Prince William police.

Another occupant in the home – 30-year old Julia Essman, was also suffering from minor injuries to her neck, Prince William police stated.

An investigation into the incident found that Levelle assaulted Essman and began to choke her. Neither individual would provide information on how Levelle was stabbed.

Both were transported to a local medical facility for treatment.

Levelle is being charged with strangulation, domestic assault and battery and providing false identity to law enforcement. Essman is being charged with malicious wounding. Both are being held without bond, according to Prince William police.
