Manassas Park neighborhood evacuated, man in custody

The suspect in the incident has been identified as Daniel Boyd – a Manassas Park resident. 

According to Manassas Park police, he is being charged with abduction, assault and battery, attempted arson and attempted strangulation.

The Manassas Park police have a 30-year old male in custody, and are investigating, following an incident this morning that led to home evacuations.

According to Manassas Park police, at 8 a.m., officers responded to a home on Manassas Drive for a domestic incident that involved the individual, who was wanted by police.

Manassas Park police stated that he threatened to hurt himself and others, and that he had poured gasoline throughout the residence.

In order to secure the area, Manassas Park police closed down Manassas Drive between Kent Drive and Colfax Drive temporarily.

Additionally, the Manassas Park fire and rescue department, the Prince William police and the Prince William sheriff’s office were on scene to assist.

Manassas Park police stated that several homes and residents were evacuated as a precaution.

The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
