We could see some severe weather this evening.
A tornado watch is in effect until 10 p.m. for Prince William and Stafford counties, and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park.
The entire Washington, D.C. area is under a tornado watch, according to the National Weather Service.
A large batch of rain that affected our region overnight gave way this morning to partly cloudy skies for the afternoon. Sunshine and warmer temperatures, and an approaching warm front has set the stage for the possibility of severe thunderstorms that could contain large hail and gusty winds, and an isolated tornado according to the weather service.
Expect sunny skies on Tuesday with a high near 70 degrees, with partly cloudy skids Tuesday night with a low near 49.
More rain could move into the area on Wednesday afternoon, and thunderstorms are likely after 5 p.m., according to the weather service.
