Fire and rescue crews in Stafford County were twice called to Aquia Town Center last night.

Crews assisted a gas company after the smell of natural gas was reported in the area of a KFC and Ruby Tuesday restaurant.

Fire crews were first called about 6:30 p.m. Monday. They arrived on the scene but found nothing, said Stafford County fire and rescue spokesman Mark Doyle.

About an hour and a half later, the gas company called 911 to again report a smell of gas in the area and that prompted another response from fire crews.

There’s no word yet if anything was found.
