Report: Homeowner Hears Would-Be Burglar’s Footsteps

TRIANGLE, Va. – On September 3, a homeowner told police that while at home, he heard someone ring the door bell repeatedly and later banging on the basement door. According to the report, while the homeowner checked the home, he heard someone coming up the basement stairs until the suspect left the home on foot. 

Here’s the latest from Prince William police; 

Residential Burglary – On September 3rd at 11:13AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3700 block of Fidelis Ct in Triangle (22172) to investigate a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that he was inside the residence when he heard someone repeatedly ring his doorbell followed a short time later by loud banging on a basement level door. Upon checking the residence, the homeowner heard someone coming up the stairs from the basement. The suspect immediately fled the home on foot. No property was reported missing. A police K-9 and helicopter were used to search for the suspect.
